“LIVING WITH EPILEPSY: A GUIDE TO SELF-MANAGEMENT” OFFERED BY WINTHROP-UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL MAY 2
The Winthrop-University Hospital Comprehensive Epilepsy Center will offer an educational program, “Living with Epilepsy: A Guide to Self Management,” on Thursday, May 2, 2013, from 6:30 to 8 PM. The program will be held at the Dr. Martin Spatz Conference Center Room A, in the lower level of the main hospital, located at 259 First Street in Mineola. A light dinner will be served.
All diagnosed individuals and their families are invited to attend. Speakers David Friedman, MD, Medical Director of the Winthrop Comprehensive Epilepsy Center; Shicong Ye, MD, Medical Director of the EEG Lab; and Vijaya Atluru, MD, Chief of the Division of Pediatric Neurology, will address common concerns held by those living with the condition. A question and answer period will be included.
Admission is free, but reservations are required. Please call (516) 663-3926 to register. Attendees are to park in the Visitor’s Garage of the Hospital; parking passes will be distributed at the meeting.
Winthrop’s Comprehensive Epilepsy Center is recognized by the NAEC (National Association of Epilepsy Centers) as a level 4 Epilepsy Center, meaning it has the highest level of medical and surgical evaluation and treatment for patients with complex epilepsy.
