PLAINVIEW RESIDENT JONAH FELDMAN, MD, NAMED ASSOCIATE PROGRAM DIRECTOR FOR INTERNAL MEDICINE RESIDENCY PROGRAM AT WINTHROP

Plainview resident Jonah Feldman, MD, has been named an Attending Physician in Winthrop’s Department of Internal Medicine, and Associate Program Director for the Hospital’s Internal Medicine Residency Program – a program that provides residents with an optimal academic learning environment for patient care, scholarship and research in Internal Medicine and its subspecialties.

Dr. Feldman is an ordained Rabbi. He received his undergraduate degree in Mathematics from Yeshiva University, where he also pursued postgraduate studies to complete a rabbinic degree from the institution’s Theological Seminary. He earned his Medical Doctorate at Stony Brook University’s School of Medicine in 2008, and completed his Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine at Winthrop. For the past year, Dr. Feldman has served as Chief Resident for the Department of Medicine at Winthrop, where his day-to-day teaching, leadership and advocacy have been an asset to the Hospital’s house staff. On numerous occasions, he has been recognized by the Department of Medicine for excellence in teaching and will continue to teach residents and medical students on the Hospital’s Internal Medicine units.

Dr. Feldman is board certified in General Internal Medicine, and is a member of the American College of Physicians (ACP) and the Association of Program Directors in Internal Medicine (APDIM). He has been appointed to serve the New York Chapter of the ACP on its Young Physicians and Health Information Technology Committees. He also participates in a NYACP Task Force on Patient Center Medical Homes and Accountable Care Organizations.

Dr. Feldman has also been selected as the Internal Medicine Site Director for Stony Brook University’s Advanced Clinical Experience Clerkship.

At Winthrop, Dr. Feldman has been involved in a number of important initiatives and committees where he has worked hard to promote systems-based practices that both advance patient care, and improve publicly reported outcomes. Some of these include the Clinical Documentation and Outcomes Committee, the Cardiology Quality Improvement Committee, the Hospital Wide Insulin Safety Committee, the Core Measures Assessment Committee, and the Clinical Informatics Decision Support Committee.

Dr. Feldman joins a team of caring and compassionate physicians at Winthrop who are committed to working together to provide excellence in patient care. Dr. Feldman specializes in diagnostic medicine. His medical expertise, coupled with his vast experience in Pastoral Care, make him a welcome addition to the Winthrop medical staff.

Dr. Feldman is currently accepting new patients. To make an appointment, please call (516) 663-2051.
