The Board of Directors of NYU Winthrop Hospital is a committed group of community and professional leaders who are charged with supporting the mission of the Hospital and setting the direction for its continued growth and expansion. Recently, James T. Giorgio, Sr., and Kirk Kordeleski, President and CEO of Bethpage Federal Credit Union, were elected to serve as part of this devoted group.
James T. Giorgio, Sr.
Mr. Giorgio has been a valued partner in NYU Winthrop's continued expansion for nearly two decades. In addition to his involvement in various major projects at the Hospital over the years, Mr. Giorgio has been an enthusiastic member of NYU Winthrop's Annual Golf Tournament Committee and the planning committee for the Hospital's annual Gala. In fact, in 2008, he was named one of the Gala honorees.
The Founder and former President of B&G Industries, a full-service electrical contracting firm, Mr. Giorgio made the decision to transfer the business to his sons in 2013 after almost
40 years in the electrical contracting industry. Today, Mr. Giorgio owns JSGR Consulting, LLC, which manages properties focusing on retail and mixed use buildings, as well as industrial properties throughout Long Island and in New York City.
Mr. Giorgio is a member and Past President of the Long Island Chapter of the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA). He has been an active member of numerous NECA committees, serving as a Chairman of the Pension Fund Committee a collaboration between the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 25 and NECA. An open road enthusiast with a passion for collecting antique motorcycles, Mr. Giorgio has been married to his wife, Theresa, for 42 years. The Giorgios have three grown children sons, Jim Jr. and Anthony, and daughter, Christine.
A dedicated businessman and philanthropist, Mr. Kordeleski is a welcome addition to NYU Winthrop's Board of Directors. In 1992, Mr. Kordeleski joined Bethpage Federal Credit Union ("Bethpage") as Executive Vice President in charge of operations, marketing, mortgage and consumer lending, deposit operations, technology and business development. In 2000, he was named the company's third President and CEO.
Mr. Kordeleski is Chairman of the Board for Open Technology Solutions, LLC an entity that provides technology to participating credit unions by collaboratively implementing, managing and supporting best-of-breed solutions. He also serves as President of Bethpage Management Services, LLC, and is an active member of numerous trade association committees and roundtables.
Within the Long Island community, Mr. Kordeleski is also actively involved, serving as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Long Island Association (LIA), Chairman of the Board of Project GRAD Long Island, and as a member of the United Way Board of Directors. In addition, Mr. Kordeleski serves on Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano's Business/ Economic Development Group.
He has been honored by numerous institutions and organizations for his regional leadership, including the YMCA of Long Island, Adelphi University, United Way, Education and Assistance Corp., The Mentoring Partnership of Long Island, and Promote Long Island, among others. In addition to Bethpage being consistently named the "Best of Long Island" among credit unions by the Long Island Press, Mr. Kordeleski has been named for four years running as one of Long Island Business News' Top 100 Most Influential Long Islanders.
Mr. Kordeleski and his wife, Dale, reside in Sea Cliff, NY, with their 15-year-old son, Zack.
