- Winthrop-University Hospital Offers Free Lecture for Community “Men’s Health: A Comprehensive Overview” - Archived

Winthrop-University Hospital’s Perspectives in Health series will offer a free seminar for the community, “Men’s Health: A Comprehensive Overview,” on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at 7 PM. It will be held at the Mineola Community Center, located at 155 Washington Avenue in Mineola (one block south of Jericho Turnpike, between Mineola Boulevard and Willis Avenue). The program will provide information about low testosterone, erectile dysfunction, prostate problems and more.
Jeffrey Schiff, MD, Attending Physician in the Department of Urology at Winthrop, will discuss the latest advances in treatment for issues related to male health, including Urolift, a new FDA-approved treatment for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
Aaron Katz, MD, Chairman of the Department of Urology at Winthrop, will discuss multiple treatment options for prostate cancer including active surveillance, minimally invasive surgery, Cyberknife Radiosurgery and more. Dr. Katz is the host of “Katz’s Corner,”, an informative health talk radio show which broadcasts every Sunday morning on WABC 770 AM radio. He is also the author of Dr. Katz’s Guide to Prostate Health: From Conventional to Holistic Therapies.
