- December 14, 2015
Mineola, NY - The holidays are a special time at Winthrop, and on December 8, Hospital Administration, local officials, staff and other friends and neighbors of the Hospital marked the start of Chanukah with the annual lighting of the menorah in the Serenity Chapel.
“The Chanukah Menorah Lighting at Winthrop is a timely reminder of our collective responsibility to continue to bring light and hope to both patients and families,” said Rabbi Anchelle Perl of Congregation Beth Sholom in Mineola. Reverend Karen Jones, Director of Pastoral Care at Winthrop, and John Collins, President and CEO at Winthrop, also welcomed guests and shared holiday wishes. Guests assisted Rabbi Perl in the lighting of the menorah and the ceremony concluded with refreshments.
