In an outstanding demonstration of its dedication to Winthrop’s pediatric patients, Contractors for Kids –a non for profit corporation founded for the purpose of providing assistance to families in the community – recently presented Winthrop’s Pediatric Diabetes Program with a $6,000 donation. The Winthrop Pediatric Diabetes Program is an American Diabetes Association nationally recognized pediatric diabetes and endocrine care program. It serves over 1,000 children with diabetes throughout the tri-state area, hundreds of whom utilize insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitoring. Winthrop’s primary goal is to explore all treatment options to provide patients and their families with the best options for achieving and maintaining optimal glucose control.
