Brief Resume
Dr. Yu finished her fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at the Yale- New Haven Hospital. She completed her Internal Medicine residency training at the Montefiore Medical Center of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She graduated from SUNY Health Science Center at Syracuse after completing undergraduate work from MIT.
Description of Research Interests/Activities
Vitamin D supplementation requirement in obese subjects
Randomized placebo controlled study examining vitamin D supplementation requirement in obese subjects undergoing medical weight loss.
Improvement in Diabetes, Hypertension and Dyslipidemia with Medical Weight Loss.
Studies changes in diabetes, blood pressure and lipid disorders with medical weight loss and its impact on medication reduction.
Immediate Post-Operative Glycemic Control and Outcomes of Cardiothoracic Surgery.
Studies relationship between glucose control after open heart surgery and outcomes of surgery.

Clinical Practice and Interests
Dr. Yu sees patients with diabetes (both type 1 and 2), thyroid disease, osteoporosis, parathyroid, adrenal and pituitary disorders. Her interest is in diabetes and obesity.
As the Director of the Weight Management Program, she sees patients seeking medical weight loss.
