Biostatistics & Epidemiology

The Biostatistics & Epidemiology Consultation Unit serves as a core investigator resource housed within the Office of Health Outcomes Research. Winthrop faculty, administration, and house staff may obtain advice and assistance with research methods at any stage of a study from conception to manuscript preparation. To gain the greatest benefit, investigators are encouraged to request help at an early stage of their research. The Consultation Unit offers help with a range of topics.

Support can range from limited advice requiring only a brief consultation to extensive collaboration involving study design; analysis; and preparation of research protocols, grant applications, and manuscripts. To request a consultation, the investigator must complete a Requisition Form and can expect to be contacted within 1-2 business days to schedule an initial meeting.

Members of our group also provide statistical review for Winthrop’s Institutional Review Board as well as education and training to faculty investigators, fellows and residents.
