Pediatric Meningococcal Vaccine

Summary

Winthrop University Hospital Pediatric Infectious Disease Department is participating in a clinical research study to evaluate the safety of an investigational meningococcal (ME-NING-O-KOK-AL) vaccination to fight meningococcal disease in infants when given along with their routine vaccines.

Description

Meningococcal disease is a serious bacterial infection that can cause meningitis, a severe infection of the brain and spinal cord. It can also lead to a dangerous blood infection called Sepsis. Eligible participants will receive study-related medical exams and research investigational medication at no cost to you, during their participation in this clinical research study. Compensation may be provided for time and travel.

Inclusion/exclusion

To be eligible for the study, infants must; ¥ Around 2 months of age ¥ Be in good health
