As you are looking forward to making the next important decision in your medical career, we welcome your interest in the Children’s Medical Center at NYU Winthrop Hospital. Our institution continues to grow, with a busy, diverse, and interesting patient population providing pediatric education in an educational environment conducive to learning and research.

NYU Winthrop Hospital offers a unique clinical, academic and research experience. Our training program provides a friendly and nurturing setting in which residents attain clinical and academic milestones. We provide outstanding primary and tertiary care clinical services overseen by a dedicated full time faculty, and there is an active basic science and clinical research focus. The Department of Pediatrics is actively engaged in medical education across the continuum, from medical students to fellows and faculty,

NYU Winthrop Hospital, a major teaching hospital and tertiary care center in the New York metropolitan area and Clinical Campus of Stony Brook School of Medicine, has an established reputation for excellent resident education and patient care. Clinical experiences at NYU Winthrop Hospital reflect a broad array of illness (and wellness) from all socioeconomic groups. The Pediatric Residency has experienced and excellent clinicians, teachers, and faculty.  Our graduates have achieved success in both private and academic practice, in general pediatrics and the full array of subspecialties. Winthrop is proud of our graduates’ record of fellowship acceptances and practice opportunities, and the positive feedback from those graduates about their training at Winthrop. Their accomplishments are clear evidence of our program’s quality.

The Department of Pediatrics provides the environment, structure and education needed for pediatric training, while maintaining close and collegial working relationships among the residents and faculty. The faculty’s expertise in patient care, teaching and research make them excellent role models and mentors for residents as they develop career plans.
