Patient Representatives are available to patients of Winthrop-University Hospital through the Patient Relations Office. Patient Representatives can help patients understand Hospital policies and procedures and answer questions they may have about the Patient's Bill of Rights and Responsibilities, Advance Directives (e.g., the Health care Proxy) and ethical concerns. In addition, Patient Representatives can help make patients' concerns known to the relevant person or department and can serve as patient advocates when appropriate.
Patients who would like to see a Patient Representative may dial extension 2058 from their bedside telephone. Family members may dial (516) 663-2058 from locations outside of the hospital.
