Research and Conferences
Residents are required to participate in the Annual NYU Winthrop Research Day under the direction of senior staff members in anatomic and clinical pathology, with participation in publications arising from this research.
Didactic teaching conferences include: cytology, neuropathology, dermatopathology, OBGYN pathology, pulmonary pathology, renal pathology, cardiovascular pathology, orthopaedic pathology and pediatric pathology. Multiheaded microscope conferences include interesting/difficult cases, conferences, frozen section slide review, and GI and pulmonary pathology. Weekly gross pathology conferences occur in conjunction with autopsy presentations.
Residents participate in a variety of interdisciplinary conferences including Surgical Morbidity and Mortality, GYN Tumor Board, Radiology-Pathology Conference and Hematolopathology Department of Medicine Clinical Pathological Correlation Conference.
