Our highly qualified oncology nurses are active members of our Cancer Center’s multidisciplinary healthcare team. The team includes oncology nurses, physicians, oncology fellows, social workers, case managers, dieticians, physical therapists, nurse navigators and pharmacists. Everyone on the team works together to ensure that every one of our patients receives the best possible care and the most advanced treatment for their specific needs.
Specialized Training in the Art and Science of Oncology Nursing
At Winthrop, our oncology nurses are provided with the most comprehensive, up-to-minute training and education to ensure the delivery of the highest quality care. The staff is trained to expertly monitor physical conditions, prescribe medication, and administer chemotherapy and other treatments. Our oncology nursing staff also shares assists patients and families with comprehensive information on cancer, as well as symptom control, illness prevention and follow-up care.
