inthrop's Auxiliary, which sponsors the Junior Volunteer program, held its annual Awards Day Ceremony on April 25, l999, which included the presentation of scholarships to deserving students. Speakers at the Program included Judy Soba, the Auxiliary's immediate Past President, whose term concluded in May, l999; Carmela Anglim, Director of Volunteers; Ephraim K. Zackson, MD, Voluntary Attending, Family Medicine; and Dora Roberts, MA, BSN, RN, Nurse Educator.
Scholarships were awarded to deserving Junior Volunteers who plan to pursue health-related careers by Ms. Soba; Mrs. Frances Sweeney, the newly-elected Auxiliary President; Mrs. DeGroot; Mrs. Helen Ehmann; and Mrs. Theodora Lourekas, President, The Community Club of Garden City and Hempstead. The closing prayer was offered by Mrs. Sweeney.
