It's true! The Winthrop-University Hospital Kidney Dialysis Program recently received the Exemplary Practices Award, with special recognition for patient encouragement.

Why did our program stand out as one of America's best? State of the art technology and medicine are certainly part of the reason. But with a life-sustaining procedure such as dialysis, technical excellence had to be the standard for any program.

What makes Winthrop special is the level of committment and professionalism I see around me every day. Unlike other dialysis programs, every patient here is cared for by one of our nurses. And Certified Nephrology Nurses are specialists in kidney care. We have experience too. Like me, many of our nurses have been here for ten years or more. We're a family, and we make our family part of yours by offering comprehensive support, including personal counseling, 24 hours a day...every day.
