Bereavement Support for Those Who are Grieving and Healing
You don’t have to go through the
grieving process alone. It helps to be
with others who understand what you
are going through. Winthrop’s bereavement
support groups provide a safe,
supportive and nurturing environment
for those who have experienced a loss
to express their emotions and thoughts
or just sit in silence, as they move
through the grief process.
Winthrop’s bereavement support
groups introduce participants to various
tools for exploring issues of grief and
loss related to the death of a loved one.
They explore feelings such as sadness,
pain, anger, guilt and despair, and give
participants coping strategies during
the various stages of grief, with a goal
toward healing. Dedicated bereavement
support groups are available for those
who have lost a loved one to cancer.
Because children grieve differently from
adults, Winthrop also offers a Precious
Moments bereavement support group
for children ages eight through 12.
For more information about
bereavement support groups held at
Winthrop, as well as special topic
seminars that are held throughout the
year, call 1-866-WINTHROP or
email bereavement@winthrop.org.
