Amidst the sights and sounds of New Orleans, over 850 friends and supporters
of Winthrop-University Hospital gathered at RXR Plaza on October 20, 2012
for the 2012 Gala, The Big Easy. The evening paid honor to two extraordinary
individuals – Michael D. Ammazzalorso, MD, Chief Medical Officer at Winthrop, and Edward
Travaglianti of TD Bank and member of Winthrop’s Board of Directors – both of whom earned
Streaming Star Awards in recognition of their years of service and extraordinary contributions to
Winthrop-University Hospital and its patients.
Winthrop’s Annual Gala – which honors

to Winthrop go above and beyond in service
to the community – was a record-breaking
event for the Hospital this year, raising more
than $1,015,000 in support of the Research
Institute Building Fund and the Research
Endowment.
