Once Again, The Children’s Medical Center at Winthrop Earns High Rankings

The Children’s Medical Center at Winthrop-University Hospital has been named to U.S. News & World Report’s 2012-13 Best Children’s Hospitals rankings. Following a lengthy clinical survey, The Children’s Medical Center at Winthrop was recognized for the second year in a row for providing high quality care in the specialty of pediatric diabetes & endocrinology and, new for 2012-13, excellence in the specialty of pediatric urology.

“Winthrop-University Hospital deserves high praise for its accomplishments,” said Health Rankings Editor Avery Comarow. “Winthrop has a reservoir of dedication and expertise that helps the sickest kids. Our goal at U.S. News is to identify and call attention to pediatric centers like this one.”

“I am honored that The Children’s Medical Center at Winthrop has once again been named among the Best Children’s Hospitals in the nation, and that two of our pediatric specialties – diabetes & endocrinology and urology – have been recognized for their outstanding leadership,” said Warren Rosenfeld, MD, Chairman of Pediatrics at Winthrop. “These accomplishments are a testament to the awardwinning care that is delivered to patients each day by our outstanding clinical staff.”

At Winthrop, award-winning care carries across a range of medical specialties. The Hospital has also once again been recognized as one of U.S. News & World Report’s Best Regional Hospitals in the New York Metro area with 11 high-performing specialties.
