How Can Winthrop’s Cancer Navigators Help You?
At Winthrop, Cancer Navigators – registered nurses and physician assistants who specialize in the care of cancer patients – are dedicated to assisting patients and their loved ones throughout the cancer journey, from pre-diagnosis through treatment. At no cost to the patient, Cancer Navigators will:
- Facilitate coordination of testing, treatment and follow up care
- Provide education about cancer and treatment options
- Provide emotional support and guidance
- Make referrals to oncology social workers, support groups and provide additional resources as needed
- Serve as a liaison for the cancer patient and family with physicians and other healthcare providers
- Develop a survivorship care plan in collaboration with patients
