Bays Celebration of Life

Michael Ryan and Alice Lovegrove celebrated the life and cancer survivorship of their 13-year-old son Bailey on July 2, 2011 with their Ninth Annual Bays Big Bash, held in Bayville, NY. This fabulous event attracted more than one thousand neighbors and friends and raised over $75,000 to help the Cancer Center for Kids at Winthrop develop and maintain vital psychosocial programs for pediatric cancer patients and families.

Guests purchased tickets for Chinese auction items, a 50/50 raffle and a host of silent auction items, while they enjoyed a barbecue buffet, childrens games and a twilight fireworks spectacular. Jackie The Joke Man Martling and celebrities like the Harlem Wizards entertained the overflow crowd.

This party is an inspiration for other families, said Alice Lovegrove. Eleven years ago our son Bailey Ryan was diagnosed with Leukemia. It was without a doubt one of the worst days of our lives. Our lifeline throughout his treatment and after care has been the CCFK. Through their incredible compassion, knowledge and caring, our son is now a happy and healthy 13-year-old and for this we will be forever in their debt.
