Amidst the backdrop of a full moon and starlit sky, over
750 friends and supporters of Winthrop-University
Hospital gathered on October 23 at the 2010 Gala,
Bella Luna. The evening paid honor to two
remark able individuals – Michael E. Khalife, MD,
Attending Surgeon at Winthrop and partner in
Nassau Surgical Associates, PC, and Charles L.
Ruoff, CPCU, President of CR Market Strategies,
Inc. and member of Winthrop's Board of Directors
– both of whom received Streaming Star Awards
in recognition of their years of devoted service to
Winthrop and its patients.
The event was a milestone Gala for the Hospital, raising
close to $840,000 in support of the development of a visionary
and robust biomedical Research Institute at Winthrop.
