Steadfast golfers braved the heat and enjoyed a blazing day of golf at Winthrop’s
24th Annual Golf Tournament at The Creek and Meadow Brook Clubs on August 10th.
Despite being rescheduled to one of the hottest days of the year after the May date
was rained out, the day was an outstanding success, raising more than $440,000
for emergency care services at Winthrop.
In Locust Valley at The Creek, Jamie Delio, Mike Farrell, Martin Massell and
Bob Scarpelli placed first in the low-gross team category with a score of 67. At the
Meadow Brook Club in Jericho, Joe Baggett, Tom Finnican, Charles Ruoff and Steve
Ruoff came in first-place with a low-gross score of 66. Individual low-gross winners
included Jamie Delio with a score of 70 at The Creek, and Marc Goodrich with a
score of 71 at the Meadow Brook Club.
At the conclusion of the day, golfers and guests enjoyed a lively cocktail
reception and awards ceremony at the Meadow Brook Club.
