Heaping bins filled to the brim with goodies
provided a full year’s supply of toys
and games for the Child Life Program at
Winthrop-University Hospital, thanks to
the generosity of State Senator Charles
J. Fuschillo, Jr. The Senator and members
of local labor unions visited the
Hagedorn Pediatric Inpatient Center on
January 5 to deliver thousands of toys
that were collected as part of the
Senator’s annual “Extend the Holidays”
toy drive.
The toy drive is made possible
through generous donations from several
local elementary schools, labor
unions and community organizations. In
what has become a very special annual
tradition at Winthrop, Senator Fuschillo
hand-delivers the toys to patients after
the holidays so they can continue to
experience the joy of receiving gifts
throughout the new year.
