The Cancer Center for Kids (CCFK) at Winthrop-University Hospital felt the
warm embrace of the Ryan-Lovegrove family of Bayville and 750 of their
friends at a special event that celebrated the life and survivorship of 11-yearold
Bailey Ryan, a former patient of the CCFK who is now cancer and
treatment-free. Bailey’s parents Michael Ryan and Alice Lovegrove hosted the
sixth annual Celebration of Life – “Bay’s Big Bash,” which raised more than
$70,000 to benefit the Hospital’s pediatric oncology/hematology program,
where children with cancer and cancer-related blood diseases receive worldclass
care in a warm and nurturing environment.
