It was an extraordinary evening honoring the Passion of Winthrop-University Hospital and its supporters at the 2008 Gala at Club W. More than 650 friends and supporters of Winthrop gathered at the October 25 event, held at RexCorp Plaza in Uniondale, to recognize two outstanding individuals for their years of devoted service to Winthrop – James T. Giorgio, Sr., Founder and President of B&G Industries, and Scott L. Schubach, MD, Chairman of the Hospital’s Department of Thoracic & Cardiovascular Surgery. The event was a great success, raising over $750,000 in support of the Hospital and its world-class services.

The evening also celebrated the passion of the many dedicated volunteers, benefactors, and corporate partners whose investment in Winthrop represents their deep commitment to advanced care, state-of-the-science technology and cutting-edge research.

Fine dining, musical entertainment, and a lively casino and community auction were also among the highlights of this most memorable evening.
