On May 22, New York State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli (right) presented a check for $134,285 in "Unclaimed Funds" to Winthrop-University Hospital. On hand to accept the check were Hospital President and CEO Daniel P. Walsh and Winthrop's Director of Finance, Palmira Cataliotti. Comptroller DiNapoli worked with Hospital officials to search the State's records for money that belongs to the Hospital but has landed instead in inactive accounts which have been surrendered to the State's control.
"We are deeply appreciative of Mr. DiNapoli's work on behalf of the Hospital," said Mr. Walsh. "His effort to help us find and claim this money from the state's Unclaimed Funds system has been a tremendous benefit to Winthrop."
