Winthrop's renowned Diabetes Education Center (DEC) hosted a press conference for New York State Senator Charles Schumer on March 24. Senator Schumer chose the DEC as the venue to introduce proposed legislation regarding health insurance reimbursement for diabetes education, revention and care due to Winthrop's long history of providing these vital services to a broad base of clients from Long Island and Queens.
