L-R: Daniel P. Walsh, President and Chief Executive Officer; Carol Lerner, Director of Patient Access Services; Amy Wolin, Assistant Vice President of Patient Financial Services; and John Collins, Vice President of Finance, cut the ribbon to mark the grand opening of the renovated Admitting Office.
Winthrop recently unveiled its expanded Admitting Office, a welcoming space that provides a high degree of privacy for patients during interviews, as well as an efficient and comfortable workplace for the office's dedicated employees.
Greeted at an elegant reception desk, visitors are seated in a spacious waiting area outfitted with comfortable chairs and soothing decor. The Admitting Office also features eight registration cubicles and two legal certificate work spaces where patients and physicians may easily review and complete paperwork.
"The office layout was beautifully designed and executed: From soothing colors to sensational artwork, the renovation is a breath of fresh air," said Amy Wolin, Assistant Vice President for Patient Financial Services.
In keeping with the Hospital's focus on preserving confidentiality and providing a calm and soothing environment for patients and family members, acoustical panels keep the noise level to a mere whisper. Additionally, the office's revamped design ensures a smooth flow of pedestrian traffic that eliminates potential points of congestion.
"The renovation is absolutely beautiful--the decor and furniture are attractive, and the fresh appearance makes it a pleasant environment to work in," commented Joan Walsh, Registrar. "The new space is truly inviting and makes a good first impression for people walking through our door."
"We receive numerous compliments throughout the day from patients and employees praising the office's new look and well-planned layout," added Sharia Callis-Thomas, Registrar. "This renovated area is a magnificent way of saying to the public, 'Welcome to Winthrop.'"
The Admitting Office, which is open 24-hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week, is located in the Hospital's main building with the entrance right off the main lobby. The Admitting staff may be reached at (516) 663-2526.
