Outside Winthrop's newly refurbished Community Outreach Center, New York State Senator Michael Balboni (7th Senate District) was recently presented a plaque that will be publicly displayed in the Center in appreciation of his ongoing commitment to the Hospital. Last year, Sen. Balboni secured a generous grant to support the exterior renovation of Winthrop's Community Outreach Center.

A centrally located facility at 101 Mineola Boulevard, the Center regularly hosts free-ofcharge Winthrop-sponsored support groups and public health and wellness programs, ranging from heart disease diagnostic and treatment options to diabetes management, among other topics.

"The Center stands as a vital resource that benefits area residents of all ages," explained Sen. Balboni. "I am pleased to support the renovation of this important facility that hosts thousands of our health-conscious neighbors annually. And, I remain committed to assisting the Hospital in providing quality, educational programs that arm individuals with the knowledge necessary to make important health care decisions."
