Representatives from SingHealth
Services Pte, Ltd. and the National
Heart Centre of Singapore, on a
national tour of several U.S. hospitals,
recently visited with Winthrop-University Hospital's administrators
and medical staff. Touring the
Hospital's state-of-the-art cardiac care
facilities, the contingency discussed
Winthrop's implementation of the
Heartlab Encompass Cardiac Network
and how the Hospital achieves nationally recognized quality outcomes for its
cardiac patients.
The Heartlab system connects
the cardiac catheterization laboratory, the non-invasive cardiology
laboratory and
remote areas
throughout the
Hospital, allowing the team to expedite reports and
images to key patient care areas for
review, along with digital storage for
future reference.
"For the past two-and-a-halfyears, Winthrop has worked closely
with Heartlab to implement this
state-of-the-art IT platform for cardiac services. During that time, a true
partnership has been forged with both
parties poised to take the technology
to the next level," said Dennis W.
Sheridan, MBA, CHE, Vice President
of Administration, Winthrop. "We
were honored to host our distinguished guests from Singapore, and
gladly shared our experiences related
to this exciting project. In fact, the
clinicians and administrators from
both groups agreed to make a conscious effort to maintain future
contact with their counterparts for
the purpose of sharing best practices.
Clearly, the world is becoming a
smaller place every day."
