 (Left to right) Dr. Braverman, Mrs. Kogan with Maxwell, Mr. Kogan and Christina Burke, RN. In late April, Michelle and Larry Kogan of Lynbrook shared the joyous birth of their son, Maxwell Jake, with the producers of TLC's "A Baby Story" for a show slated to air in the fall.
Mrs. Kogan, who was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1999, chose to tell her personal story to empower those with MS wanting to get pregnant.
Jeffrey J. Braverman, MD, a Winthrop obstetrician and gynecologist, was at her side for the three-hour delivery in Winthrop's New Life Center. Little Maxwell entered the world at 2:08 p.m. weighing 7 lbs, 2 oz to join his big sister, Marti Jenna.
"With the help of Dr. Braverman and his extraordinary staff, Maxwell is here," Mrs. Kogan said proudly. "It was a wonderful opportunity to let other people know that there are doctors out there to help them get through this."
