Alfred H. Hicks (1940 - 2004)
Alfred H. Hicks had a special relationship with Winthrop-University Hospital. Not only was he born here, his family was among the Hospital's founders in 1896.
Mr. Hicks joined the Hospital's Board of Directors in 1983 and served as Chairman from 1994-1998. Through his personal commitment and leadership, Winthrop grew from a community hospital into a respected regional healthcare resource. His impact on the history of this Hospital is deeply appreciated and will long be remembered.
Frank A. Monteleone, MD
For the past 30 years, Frank A. Monteleone, MD, has taken great pride in being a member of Winthrop-University Hospital's Medical Staff.
He began his professional life at Winthrop to complete a rotating internship and residency in general surgery. Eager and committed to learning everything he could and to doing his best for his patients, he chose to remain at the Hospital, becoming a highly respected surgeon, valued colleague and medical educator. The author of numerous professional articles, Dr. Monteleone is a former President of Winthrop's Medical Staff Organization and continues to be a vital member of the medical staff.
The Hospital is proud to have this truly remarkable physician and friend on the Winthrop team.
