Winthrop's new Heart Surgery Center is one of the most technologically sophisticated facilities of its kind, a perfect complement to Winthrop's Institute for Heart Care's nationally renown reputation for cardiac excellence. Cardiac surgeons, interventional cardiologists, nurse specialists and the entire cardiac team mend the heart through medical expertise and personalized, compassionate care.
The center houses 22 intensive care and step-down, single patient rooms intended to ease patient stress and ensure complete privacy, as well as three nursing stations focused exclusively on cardiac surgery intensive care patients. A fourth open-heart surgery operating room is currently being constructed.
In addition, patients are closely supervised in the center's 26 telemetry beds equipped with advanced monitoring technology and a nursing station dedicated solely to the care of telemetry patients. Patients and their families can also gather to talk or just take a break in one of the center's comfortable lounges.
Members of the Heart Surgery Team demonstrate cutting-edge surgical
procedures and advanced technology to guests during the open house.
