  • William J. Porter, Jr., Golf Tournament Chairman (left), accepts a token of appreciation from Daniel P. Walsh, Winthrop's President and CEO, for his efforts to make the tournament a success.
Winthrop's Annual Golf Tournament raised more than $280,000 for the Hospital's Institute for Cancer Care. Nearly 300 golfers turned out to support this worthwhile program, enjoying a picture-perfect spring day at either The Creek in Locust Valley, or the Meadow Brook Club in Jericho. Golf Tournament Chairman was William J. Porter, Jr., Managing Director, United States Trust Company, a member of Winthrop's Board of Directors.

(Left to right) Daniel P. Walsh, William J. Porter, Jr., and Ralph Lambert, President, Axis Group, discussed Winthrop's Institute for Cancer Care, beneficiary of the Hospital' Annual Golf Tournament. The Axis Group was Event Sponsor of the Tournament. Mr. Lambert is a previous tournament chairman.
