Mineola, NY – Three local residents – Joseph Ioppolo of Mineola, Theresa Levey of West Hempstead, and Peter Fuschetto of New Hyde Park – have been named winners in Mineola Bicycle, Fitness and Mower’s “Mountain Bike Raffle Extravaganza,” a raffle recently held by the store to raise money to benefit the Child Life Program at The Children’s Medical Center at Winthrop-University Hospital. Each of the winners received a 2009 Schwinn Frontier all-terrain, front-suspension 21-speed bicycle, courtesy of Mineola Bicycle, Fitness and Mower.

Through the purchase of raffle tickets, participants had the opportunity to enter their name into a random drawing to win one of three bicycles generously donated by the store. Proceeds from the raffle will support Winthrop’s Child Life Program through which certified child life specialists utilize play and education to improve patients’ understanding of medical procedures; teach relaxation techniques to help the patients cope with illness or surgery, and provide emotional support for the entire family.
