GIRL SCOUT TROOP 1714 OF EAST MEADOW SPREADS HOLIDAY CHEER TO PATIENTS AT WINTHROP-UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL

Mineola, NY - Members of the Nassau County Girl Scouts Troop 1714 from East Meadow recently visited Winthrop-University Hospital to donate gifts they made especially for adult patients who are spending the holidays in the hospital. This unique community service project, which helped the girls earn their Silver Awards, involved hours of decorating crafts including holiday door decorations, picture frames, and other special gifts for patients to enjoy on Christmas morning. In addition, the Troop donated several crocheted blankets to help keep patients extra warm and toasty this holiday season. Present at the donation were (l.-r.) Troop 1714 members Tiffany Oomen, Alice Lenoci, Emma McKillop, Katie O’Neill, Troop Leader Laura Oppido, Tiffany Kahles, Troop Leader Cathy Lenoci, and Katie Oppido.
