MINEOLA LIONS CLUB FEEDS THE NEEDY

(L.-R.) John P. Broder, Vice President, Winthrop-University Hospital, and past president, Mineola Lions Club; Randi Shubin Dresner, President, Island Harvest; and Rick Volpe, Principal, Van Buren Buick-Pontiac-GMC, and President, Mineola Lions Club.
Mineola, NY – The Edward Smith Mineola Lions Club members have once again committed their resources to helping those in need this holiday season.

As an extension of its Thanksgiving tradition of providing all of the trimmings of a Thanksgiving dinner and more to individuals and local families facing financial challenges, the Lions Club members recently donated 100 turkeys to support the efforts of Island Harvest to fight hunger and touch the lives of needy families on Long Island.

“It’s a wonderful feeling to know that you are able to bring joy and comfort to individuals and families who otherwise may not have had the opportunity to enjoy a fine turkey dinner during the holiday season,” said Rick Volpe, President of the Mineola Lions Club, adding, “It’s the year-long volunteer fundraising efforts of the club members that provide the resources to make these acts of caring possible. They are a terrific group of successful businessmen who share their success.”

For more information on how to become a member of the Mineola Lions Club, call Rick Volpe at (516) 741-5060.
