FREE LECTURE FOR SENIORS ON DECEMBER 10
Mineola, NY – Winthrop-University Hospital’s “Health Update for Seniors and Their Families” community education series will sponsor a free program, “Senior Health: Tips to Enhance Your Well-Being” on Wednesday, December 10, 2008, at 1:15 PM. Held at the Mineola Community Center, 155 Washington Avenue in Mineola, the lecture will focus on what seniors need to know to enjoy optimal health.
Paula Lester, MD, Division of Geriatric Medicine at Winthrop, will discuss tips that can help seniors play an active role in managing their health, such as how to make the most out of a visit to the doctor, age-specific health screenings, and general health maintenance facts. A question and answer period will follow the lecture.
The program begins with the lecture at 1:15 PM, followed by blood pressure checks at 2:45. Admission is free, but seating is limited. Reservations are required. To reserve your space, please call (516) 663-3916.
