BAYVILLE FAMILY HOSTS ANNUAL CELEBRATION OF LIFE RAISING MORE THAN $70,000 FOR WINTHROP’S CANCER CENTER FOR KIDS
Mineola, New York - The Cancer Center for Kids (CCFK) at Winthrop-University Hospital felt the warm embrace of the Ryan-Lovegrove family of Bayville and 750 of their closest friends at a special event that celebrated the life and survivorship of 11-year-old Bailey Ryan, a former patient of the CCFK who is now cancer and treatment-free. Bailey’s parents Michael Ryan and Alice Lovegrove hosted the sixth annual Celebration of Life – “Bay’s Big Bash,” which raised more than $70,000 to benefit the Hospital’s pediatric oncology/hematology program, where children with cancer and cancer-related blood diseases receive world-class care in a warm and nurturing environment.
Since its inception, the Ryan-Lovegrove family’s annual Celebration of Life in honor of their son Bailey has garnered tremendous support from the community. Held at the family’s waterfront residence, this year’s event featured an array of auction items and an exciting raffle. In addition, guests enjoyed live entertainment, children’s games, a barbecue buffet, and a spectacular fireworks display – all arranged by the Ryan-Lovegrove family and friends.
“We see this party as an inspiration for other families,” said Alice Lovegrove. “We will be forever grateful to Winthrop’s Cancer Center for Kids and this is the best way we could thank them.”
