GEORGE LAZAROU, MD, NAMED CHIEF OF GYNECOLOGY

Martin Chavez, MD, named Director of Obstetrical Ultrasound and Wendy Kinzler, MD, appointed Director of Winthrop’s Adverse Pregnancy Outcome Program




Mineola, NY -Winthrop-University Hospital is pleased to announce the appointment of George Lazarou, MD, FACOG, to Chief of Gynecology. In addition, Martin Chavez, MD, has been appointed Director of Obstetrical Ultrasound, and Wendy Kinzler, MD, joins the Winthrop faculty as Director of the Adverse Pregnancy Outcome Program.



“On behalf of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Winthrop, I would like to welcome Dr. Lazarou, Dr. Chavez, and Dr. Kinzler to our world-class team,” said Anthony M. Vintzileos, MD, Chairman, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Winthrop-University Hospital. “Each of these outstanding clinicians brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to their positions and we look forward to a long and rewarding relationship.”



George Lazarou, MD, FACOG, Chief of Gynecology at Winthrop-University Hospital, is renowned for his expertise in providing exceptional care to patients with a range of complex surgical conditions including pelvic floor dysfunction – a condition in which the pelvic floor muscles of a woman’ s lower pelvis do not function properly. In addition, Dr. Lazarou is specially trained in several minimally invasive procedures including advanced laparoscopy, vaginal reconstruction and anal sphincter repair for the treatment of urinary and fecal incontinence.
