WINTHROP-UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL EXECUTIVE NAMED A FELLOW IN THE AMERICAN COLLEGE OF HEALTHCARE EXECUTIVES
Mineola, NY – Winthrop-University Hospital is proud to announce that Glen Head resident Dennis W. Sheridan, MBA, Vice President, Administration at Winthrop, has met rigorous criteria to earn a prestigious Fellowship within the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), a distinguished international society of healthcare leaders, recognized for its esteemed credentialing and educational programs as well as its annual Congress on Healthcare Leadership. This notable achievement is representative of Mr. Sheridan’s commitment to excellence in healthcare administration.
Mr. Sheridan joined Winthrop in 1996 as Administrative Director of the Division of Geriatric Medicine, served as Assistant Vice President for Process Improvement and Emergency Management at Winthrop, as was promoted to Vice President, Administration in 2003. In this capacity he is responsible for a wide array of hospital programs and services, including clinical programs; safety, security and environmental services; and laboratory services including pathology, cytology and chemistry. Mr. Sheridan holds an MBA in Finance from Adelphi University and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Providence College.
ACHE members must meet thorough credentialing requirements in order to advance to a Fellowship. The requirements, which were recently revised following a two-year evaluation by the society’s Credentialing Task Force, consist of passing the Board of Governors exam in Healthcare Management; meeting ACHE tenure requirements; successfully completing continuing education coursework; as well as actively participating in healthcare and community activities.
