THE CHILDREN’S MEDICAL CENTER AT WINTHROP-UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL NAMED TO U.S. NEWS & WORLD REPORT’S 2014-15 BEST CHILDREN’S HOSPITALS RANKINGS

The Children’s Medical Center at Winthrop has again been named to U.S. News & World Report’s Best Children’s Hospitals rankings for demonstrating excellence in the specialties of pediatric diabetes and endocrinology and pediatric pulmonology.

Among The Children’s Medical Center’s notable accomplishments this year include the Division of Pediatric Diabetes and Endocrinology’s placement among the top 20 programs in the country (# 19) and the ranking of pediatric pulmonology, which moved up from #34 in 2013-2014 to #23 on this year’s list.

“It’s quite an accomplishment that The Children’s Medical Center at Winthrop has been named among the Best Children’s Hospitals in the nation year after year,” said Warren Rosenfeld, MD, Chairman of Pediatrics at Winthrop. “I am not only pleased that two of our pediatric specialties have once again been recognized for their outstanding programs and quality, but am also proud that our pediatric pulmonology program has moved even higher on the rankings list this year.”

U.S. News introduced the Best Children’s Hospitals rankings in 2007 to help families of sick children find the best medical care available. The rankings offer families an exclusive look at quality related information at the individual hospital level.
