WINTHROP-UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL SPONSORS FREE LECTURE FOR WOMEN “WOMEN, HYPERTENSION AND CARDIOVASCULAR RISK”
Attention women: Did you have preeclampsia during pregnancy? Are you per- or postmenopausal? If so, you may be at an increased risk for heart disease.
To learn more, the public is invited to attend Winthrop-University Hospital’s Inspiring Women education series for a free seminar, “Women, Hypertension and Cardiovascular Risk: From Pregnancy through Menopause and Beyond,” on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at 7:00 PM. The program will be held at the Mineola Community Center, 155 Washington Avenue in Mineola (one block south of Jericho Turnpike, between Mineola Boulevard and Willis Avenue), and will offer up-to-date information on the association between high blood pressure and heart disease risk.
Justine S. Lachmann, MD, Director of the Congestive Heart Failure Program at Winthrop, will discuss “Hypertension During Peri- and Postmenopause.” Marilyn M. Chengot, MD, Cardiology Fellow in the Department of Medicine at Winthrop, will discuss “Preeclampsia and Hypertension.”
