GARDEN CITY RESIDENTS BEGIN PREPARATIONS FOR WINTHROP’S YULETIDE BALL
Ali and Rich Volpe to Host 2013 Event - Set for December 7th
Ali and Rich Volpe, Hosts of Winthrop’s 2013 Yuletide Ball
Each year during the December holiday season, Garden City residents gather for Winthrop-University Hospital’s Yuletide Ball, an elegant evening of fine dining, dancing and fundraising in support of the Child Life Program at The Children’s Medical Center at Winthrop.
Ali and Rich Volpe have graciously volunteered to host the 2013 Yuletide Ball, which will take place at their beautiful Garden City home on Saturday, December 7 at 7:00 p.m. A festive holiday atmosphere complete with live music and fine dining will set the tone for an unforgettable community event aimed at raising crucial funds for Winthrop’s Child Life Program.
Thanks to the efforts of faithful supporters from the community, Winthrop’s Yuletide Ball has raised over two million dollars in support of the Hospital’s Child Life Program, which is dedicated to helping children understand and cope with the hospital experience. Certified Child Life Specialists utilize therapeutic play, arts and crafts, entertainment and other diversions to ensure that the hospital experience is as stress-free as possible for children and their families.
