“WOMEN’S HEALTH: EYES, GERD & HEARING” TOPIC OF FREE LECTURE SPONSORED BY WINTHROP-UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL
Winthrop-University Hospital’s Inspiring Women series will offer a free program, “Women’s Health: Eyes, GERD & Hearing” on Thursday, May 16, 2013, at 7:00 PM. It will be held at the Mineola Community Center, 155 Washington Avenue in Mineola, located one block south of Jericho Turnpike, between Mineola Boulevard and Willis Avenue. The program will present up-to-date information available to individuals on the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of vision problems, GERD (Gastrointestinal Reflux Disease) and hearing loss.
Nazanin Barzideh, MD, Chief, Vitreoretinal Surgery, Division of Ophthalmology at Winthrop, will discuss how your vision can be as good as when you were five years old. Raluca Vrabi, MD, Director, Center for Inflammatory Bowel Disease at Winthrop, will address GERD and will discuss trigger foods, symptoms, the side effects of proton pump inhibitors, and more. Donna M. Rubino, Aud-CCC, Director of Audiology, Mineola ENT-Head and Neck Associates, PC, will discuss options to remedy hearing loss. A question and answer period will be included in the program.
