“BE SAFE! TIPS FOR SENIORS” WINTHROP-UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL OFFERS FREE LECTURE FOR SENIORS APRIL 10
The senior population in Nassau County experiences a high rate of unintentional injuries. These accidents, which may be preventable, often diminish an individual’s health and independence.
To learn simple safety tips that may help protect a senior’s quality of life, the community is invited to attend Winthrop-University Hospital’s free seminar, “Be Safe! Tips for Seniors,” on Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at 1:15 PM. The program will be held at the Mineola Community Center, located at 155 Washington Avenue in Mineola (one block south of Jericho Turnpike and one block east of Mineola Boulevard). Blood pressure checks will be offered following the lecture at 2:45 PM.
Judy Jax, RN, BSN, CEN, Trauma Coordinator at Winthrop, will provide information about driving, pedestrian and home safety. A question and answer period will follow the program.
Seating is limited and reservations are required. To reserve a space, please call (516) 663-3916.
Health Update for Seniors is a free community health education program presented by Geriatric Health Services, the Winthrop Home Health Agency and the Department of Public Relations. For information on other programs at the Hospital, please call 1-866-WINTHROP.
