WINTHROP-UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL SPONSORS FREE HEART HEALTH LECTURE FOR WOMEN “IN ANY LANGUAGE – LET YOUR HEART DANCE”
Heart disease does not discriminate. It is the leading cause of death among both men and women, yet the latest research shows that risk factors can vary according to gender, genetics, culture, and lifestyle.
To learn more, women are invited to attend Winthrop-University Hospital’s free seminar, “In Any Language – Let Your Heart Dance,” on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at 7:00 PM. The program will be held at the Mineola Community Center, located at 155 Washington Avenue in Mineola (one block south of Jericho Turnpike, between Mineola Boulevard and Willis Avenue).
Vijayapraveena Paruchuri, MD, Cardiology Fellow at Winthrop, will discuss women and risk, including cultural influences, the mind/body connection, and how all women can become active partners in their heart heath. A question and answer period will follow the program.
Parking is adjacent to the building. Admission is free, but seating is limited and reservations are required. To reserve a seat, please call (516) 663-9761.
The seminar is being offered as part of Winthrop’s Inspiring Women™ community education series, which is dedicated to the health and well-being of women of all ages. For information about Inspiring Women events or other wellness programs sponsored by the Hospital, please call 1-866-WINTHROP or visit www.winthrop.org/communityprograms.
