The Winthrop Auxiliaries, the Twigs and Wings of Winthrop, are pleased to announce their first fundraiser of 2013: The Battle of the Winthrop-University Bands. The event will take place on Friday, February 8, 2013 at the Cradle of Aviation Museum, located at 1 Davis Avenue in Garden City.

Come cheer on your favorite Winthrop physicians and their friends. The event will feature The Arrhythmics – Dr. Kevin Marzo, Chief, Division of Cardiology; Dr. Scott Schubach, Chairman, Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery; Dr. James Capozzi, Chairman, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery; Dr. Ron Marino, Associate Chairman, Pediatrics; Dr. Collin Brathwaite, Chief, Division of Minimally Invasive Bariatric Surgery, John Miller, member of Winthrop’s Board of Directors; Dr. Mike Danca; Patti Cooper; Paul Marino; Zoey Honeycutt; Chris Marzo; and special guests Richard Townsend and Glenn Drewes. The event will also feature Fivestone, with Dr. Gregory Spisak, Attending Physician, Division of Internal Medicine, and Rockit, featuring Vinny Oppido and Glenn Schifano, Creative Arts/Music Therapist, Winthrop’s Cancer Center for Kids.

At the end of the evening, the audience will decide who walks away with the "Winthrop Cup.”
