John F. Collins, President and CEO of Winthrop-University Hospital, is pleased to announce the honorees for the Hospital’s Annual Gala, “The Big Easy,” a spectacular evening celebrating the sights and sounds of New Orleans that will take place on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at the RXR Plaza in Uniondale. Glen Cove resident Michael Ammazzalorso, MD, Chief Medical Officer at Winthrop, and Lloyd Harbor resident Edward Travaglianti of TD Bank and member of Winthrop’s Board of Directors, will each receive the Streaming Star Award in recognition of their years of loyal service to Winthrop-University Hospital and its patients.
“Dr. Ammazzalorso and Mr. Travaglianti are extraordinary individuals who not only excel in their professions, but in their service to the community. Their remarkable contributions have impacted countless lives at Winthrop and we are pleased to pay honor to them at this year’s Gala,” said Mr. Collins.
Dr. Michael Ammazzalorso has been an esteemed member of Winthrop’s medical staff since 1995. As the Hospital’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Ammazzalorso is the primary liaison between Winthrop practitioners and the Administration and Board of Directors. He serves in this capacity concurrent with his role as Associate Chairman for Academic and Clinical Affairs in Winthrop’s Department of Medicine and Senior Associate Program Director for
