WINTHROP-UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL’S BREAST HEALTH CENTER OFFERING FREE PROGRAM APRIL 24 “MANAGING CONCERNS REGARDING INFERTILITY”
Winthrop-University Hospital’s Breast Health Center will host a special program for patients concerned with fertility issues, “Managing Concerns Regarding Infertility,” on Tuesday,
April 24, at 6:00 PM. It will be held at the Dr. Martin Spatz Conference Center, Room A, located in the main Hospital at 259 First Street in Mineola.
“Patients have expressed concerns about how a breast cancer diagnosis or testing positive for the BRCA gene mutation – which puts them in a higher risk category for developing cancer – will affect their fertility options,” said Alisha Ellis, LCSW, Breast Cancer Social Worker. “This program was developed in response to these concerns.”
Linda Sung, MD, Attending Physician in Winthrop’s Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, and member of Reproductive Specialists of New York, will discuss fertility options for individuals with breast cancer concerns. The seminar will include a question and answer period, as well as a short Zumba session at the end of the program to help release stress. Light refreshments will be provided.
Admission is free, but seating is limited and pre-registration is required. To make a reservation, please call Alisha Ellis at (516) 663-2556.
This program is located in the lower level of the main Hospital. Parking is available in a lot adjacent to the Dr. Martin Spatz Conference area. Parking directions: travel west on First Street; go past the main entrance of the Hospital. Make a left into the first driveway past the main entrance. You will be directed to parking.
